Integrated Service Reviewer II Qualifications

Summary of Responsibilities
The ISR II Reviewer is accountable to the Team Leader for completing the Health, Nutritional Services, and Safe Environments and Transportation sections of the OHS Monitoring Protocol. The evidence provided by the ISR II will be used to produce an on site preliminary report that meets both the Team Leader’s content specifications and the report-writing requirements established by the Office of Head Start.

Tasks include:

  • Understand how Grantees’ systems for determination of children’s health care status, identification of health concerns, and follow up care work
  • Understand the extent to which Grantees’ systems for delivering Nutrition services support children’s healthy development
  • Ensure that indoor and outdoor environments are safe and pose no danger to children or staff
  • Collect and entering all notes from observations, interviews, review of records, etc. into the “Notes” component of the OHS Monitoring Software
  • Work collaboratively with others to complete common assignments, interview Grantee stakeholders, write preliminary areas of noncompliance, and accept direction from the Team Leader
  • Complete the Transportation section of the OHS Monitoring Protocol

Minimum Requirements

Education:
Bachelor’s or associate's degree in a health-services discipline, such as public health, health education, medicine, nursing, physician assistant, nutrition services, or other health-related discipline. (If applying with an associate’s degree, submission of additional coursework and training is required).

Work Experience:

  • Head Start experience preferred but not required.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a health related position with an organization serving a significant proportion of families with young children (birth through 5), including early childhood programs, health or social service agencies, public schools, or other health-related organizations.
  • Work experience that involves integration of management systems and program services.
  • Relevant work experience must be within the last 15 years.
  • Provision of health-related services to young children (birth to age 5) and their families in at least two of the following three areas of responsibility:

    1. Well-child and acute and chronic care
    2. Child Safety
    3. Child Nutrition

For Current Reviewers Only:
Years of experience as a Head Start Reviewer cannot be included in the 3+ years of employment history.

Other Requirements
Must be able to demonstrate through a specified writing sample the ability to write clear and concise reports supported by appropriate evidence.

Licensing:
Evidence of meeting any existing current professional Federal or State licensing or certification requirements, as required by the profession
